I like this one:

The present moment is the most profound and challenging teacher we will ever meet in our lives. It is a compassionate teacher, it extends to us no judgement, no censure, no measurement of success and failure. The present moment is a mirror, in its reflection we learn how to see. Learning how to look into this mirror without deluding ourselves is the source of all wisdom. In this mirror we see what contributes to the confusion and discord in our lives and what contributes to harmony and understanding. We see the realtionship between pain and its cause on a moment-to-moment level, we see the bond between love and its source. We see what it is that connects us and what it is that alienates us.

Idea

Posted on Jul 13th, 2006 by geriathlete : Adventure Diva geriathlete

Hi....I had an idea today and its so simple that I know someone else has thought it and maybe such a movement is already in place on the network....you may have seen the" firegrid" thingy that was posted somewhere, i did and I visited the web page ....in brief the concept is to organise an hour of mediation synchronised around the world  on Jul 17th 2007 at 11:11 am to re energise the world...i happento think its a wonderful and very valid concept , given the power of the human mind and spirit....this morning while I was meditating a voice inside my head said "why wait ?!".... we zaadzters have the potential to form a global meditation group right now...

what I suggest......... we establish a time  eg 6am/pm GMT, when all zaadsters, committed to the meditation project, set aside a time  from 5 mins to more ,if they want ,to meditate on a common theme......

what we would need to do....notify all zaadzsters, create a pod/space /whatever where the following items are posted...

.a table showing time zone equivalents across the globe for 6am/pm GMT...for those like me who couldnt work it out even with a slide rule!!!...t

he selected meditation project for the week  /day/ month...whatever is a sensible time frame per project....

a place to post possible projects.......these could be global /community or personal...

wewould need to have selection process,,maybe by vote to choose an appropriate project each week....

Rules and regulations.....whatever tool is chosen for meditation wether it be a mantra that is recited or a prayer or a thought....it should be global ,non sectarian, non cultural, so that all zaadsters no matter what their religeon, race , or personal journey, would feel comfortable taking part...

a space where people could post percieved results of our efforts...if they are apparent

If my idea were to take of it is conceivable that at 6 am/pm GMTevery day 9000+people would be united in a common goal...directing the power of their minds and spirits in a period of global meditation...how cool would that be...if we really practice I believe we actually could change the world

respectfully submitted Annette

My answer to a question

Posted on Jul 12th, 2006 by geriathlete : Adventure Diva geriathlete

My spiritual quest has come from a realization that my physical and mental non -well being was  related to spiritual isolation, the eastern nondualistic philosophies struck a deep chord in me, and through them I found my way back to spirituality, not to beliefs in the religious sense....in fact I dropped my belief systems completely.but to that sense of connection with all things,,,interconnectedness, interbeing as Thicht Nat Hahn speaks of it.

For me, it is enough that the truth, be it reality, God , the Universe, the Void, the Way,  whatever, remains.....unchanged..... no matter what I or others do, or say, and this acceptance allows me the freedom to explore without judgement. I have nothing to prove...I am That no matter what I or others believe That to be......In fact ,I wonder ,sometimes, why people are so anxious to explain or prove that which IS...........acceptance is so much more sensible.....However, that having been said , I am very grateful to the Boddhisatvas, who have returned to show us the way....and I think it behoves me to pay attention and hustle along ....given the magnitude of their generosity....

” the centre of the seesaw does not move. It feels neither upness nor downess, it is balanced”

I dont think we are supposed to hang out in the centre of the seesaw,, we are meant to experience the upness and downess ....the work is in passing through balance to reach them.........

Week 10 - Physical pain

:: Friday Five :: Week 10 :: Physical pain ::
How to participate: 1) Join holy memes and kosmic blog starters and check it out every Friday for a different set of five questions. 2) Copy and paste those questions (and this message!) into your blog. 3) Tag your entry with the words "Friday Five" and post it. 4) Come back to the pod and tell us about your post. 5) Message suzanne with ideas for next week. Let's spread the seeds!

1) Why is there physical pain?

physical pain is the sound of one end of the seesaw hitting the ground!!!!!
2) Do you prefer western or eastern medicine? Why?

I prefer not to create a divide between the two, they are different perspectives of the same thing....

3) Describe your own personal experience with pain. Chronic illness? Trips to doctors? Shamans? Hospitals? Accupuncture?,

I have experienced chronic and severe pain in one side of my head every day for 30 yrs or so . I experienced many diagnostic and healing modalities.....the only thing that did not help was taking painkillers....yes they took the pain away, but it  always came back......theonly thing that has helped me was learning the lesson the pain had to teach....now I am frequntly pain free and when I am not I don't worry....... I l question it and study it, and I take help wherever it appears

4) Have you or someone you know been miraculously healed?

Probably! Many times

5) What is the biggest healing secret you have learned in your life?

 learn the lesson

a prayer

Posted on Jul 8th, 2006 by geriathlete : Adventure Diva geriathlete

Let me not, this day, rack up jewels in heaven by the virtue of my deeds.

Let me, instead, serve those who would be your servants.

Let me be the poor, the naked, the hungry, for those who would practice charity.

Let me be steeped in sin for those who would practice forgiveness.

Let me be ignorant, a fallow field in whom, those, who would sow the seeds of enlightenment, may labour.

Let me be the soul lost in desolation, crying out to those who would be guides, and teachers.

Let me be the dark, dispelled by those who would carry  the candles of love in their hearts.

In this way, let me, most nearly, experience the love of God..............
